Office based Pick and Pack Assistant

What we’re looking for:

Someone to join our small team to help sort, pick, pack, and dispatch award-winning Penguin Ink greetings card orders, from our studio office.  This flexible role also involves frequent customer communication, as well as further opportunities for candidates interested in finding other ways to help us improve our customers’ experience.

What you’ll be doing

  • Periodically assisting in the loading and unloading of pallet deliveries and re-stocking shelves.
  • Printing off daily customer online orders.
  • Communicating with customers (both consumers and trade), not limited to responding to requested order customisation and delivery options.
  • Accurately select the corresponding stock, following a pick sheet with order instructions.
  • Packaging orders appropriately and accurately applying postage.
  • Collating and accurately recording orders ready for despatch to enable daily postal collection.
  • Ensuring set productivity targets are met.
  • Maintaining high standards of health & safety.
  • Informing us when key supplies (not least, stationery) required to undertake your role effectively need reordering.

Key skills needed

  • Must be conscientious with a good eye for detail, and able to work at a fast pace with accuracy.
  • Able to multitask and prioritise where needed.
  • A great communicator who is always looking for ways to help
  • Friendly, calm, and efficient – even on our busiest days.
  • Able to think proactively and logically, to offer cost-effective solutions to individual customer requests.
  • Able to perform the same task on a daily basis while striving to maintain a high standard at all times, whilst equally excited about the challenges of the more varied aspects of this role.
  • Physically fit, as this role involves lots of walking, and occasional lifting, along with being on your feet for the full shift.
  • Comfortable working with internet-based tools.
