Henries Most Promising Young Designer Award 2018 Finalist

It’s almost time for The Henries awards 2018! For those of you who haven’t heard about these awards, The Henries awards were set up to celebrate the ‘best of the best’ in the Greeting Card industry – named after Sir Henry Cole, the founder of the Greeting Card.

This year I’m proud to announce being nominated for The Lynn Tait Most Promising Young Designer Award – Lizzie Parker – Founder of Penguin Ink. Previous winners of this prestigious award include Louise Tyler (2017), Sara Miller (2016) and Cathryn Jones (2015). So clearly an award dominated by the ladies!
It’s such an honour to be a finalist and to be among such great company, to win would be amazing but just to be nominated has made my career to date. As you may know before taking a side step into Greetings just a few years ago I was working behind the scenes as a commercial Graphic Designer in a lovely In-house team in Bristol. Since joining the Greetings Card industry I’ve been bowled over by everyone’s positivity and kind words. I’m often referred to as unique and special which is so lovely to hear. I’m looking forward to what the next few months will bring as well as spending more time designing new cards for 2019. Just a few days ago I have taken my first US stockist which only instils further confidence in me.
I would like to take this opportunity to say a massive THANK YOU to all the buyers who voted for me it really means such a lot to me as you really know your stuff. I now have a nail-biting couple of months to wait to find out who will be named the winner on the 4th October.
The Awards evening will be held at the prestigious Lancaster Gate Hotel on 4th October. More information about the event can be found here.
